As a counselor and psychotherapist, I take the issue of privacy very seriously. Everyone receives my Notice of Privacy Practices when they begin the counseling or therapy process with me. That document describes privacy protections for people meeting with me in my office. In the meantime, I'd like to describe the privacy policy for visitors to my website.

I am committed to maintaining the privacy of visitors to my website.

My website collects personal information at only one point. Individuals who decide to sign up for my email letters provide their first and last names and an email address. This information is stored by the email service (Emma) that I use to create and distribute my email letters. I do not rent, sell, or otherwise share this information with anyone, nor does Emma, per their Privacy and Permission Policy which you can read about on the following page:

My website uses Google Analytics which collects information about your browsing experience on my site; this information is used in an anonymous way and not associated with a specific individual. You can read about Google Analytics' Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy on the following pages respectively:

My website is hosted by GoDaddy which also collects information about your browsing experience on my site; this information is used in an anonymous way and not associated with a specific individual. You can read about GoDaddy's Privacy Policy on the following page:

My website may use other Web Analytics services and/or software to collect information about your browsing experience. This information is used to analyze the performance of the site. Some of the services/software like Google Analytics may store this information on their own servers.

Though I make every effort to preserve privacy for visitors to my website, information may need to be disclosed when required by law wherein I have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process.

If I decide to amend my privacy policy, I will update this page so my visitors can always be aware of the provisions of my policy. The last update to my privacy policy was posted on 2/19/2014.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding my privacy policy or my website, please feel free to call me at 847-382-0600.
